Palazzo Versace Dubai has entered into an agreement with Dubai Cares, part of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, as part of the hotel’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme ‘Palazzo Versace Engage’.

Under the terms of the partnership, Palazzo Versace Dubai will introduce an initiative whereby guests will be invited to contribute towards the initiative by making a donation of US $5.4 (AED20).

Funds raised will be directed towards supporting Dubai Cares' education programmes in developing countries. Palazzo Versace Dubai is also committing to adopting a school in Nepal as part of Dubai Cares' ‘Adopt a School’ initiative.

The responsibility covers the construction of the school premises, providing book supplies, hygienic latrines, and providing teacher training that will benefit 150 children, according to Dubai Media Office.

Palazzo Versace Dubai chairman Raza Jafar said: “I am proud of Palazzo Versace Dubai’s efforts to promote access to education among those in greatest need. When I consider the exponential impact that this partnership will have on underprivileged communities, I am increasingly optimistic about the future. Education is the greatest gift that one can bestow and it is an honour to partner with Dubai Cares, an organisation that shares our vision of making a tangible difference in the world.”

Commenting on the initiative, Tariq Al Gurg, chief executive officer at Dubai Cares, said: “Giving every child and young person access to a quality education helps improve their lives, reduce poverty as well as sustain economic growth. Our partnership will enable hotel guests to make a donation to Dubai Cares while settling their bill at checkout. We are proud to be implementing this fundraising model in the Palazzo Versace Dubai.”
