To celebrate International Chocolate Day on Friday, July 7, homegrown concepts Mirzam Chocolate and Encounter Coffee Roasters will be hosting three chocolate and coffee pairing sessions at The Sum Of Us Café.

Representatives from Mirzam Chocolate and Encounter Coffee Roasters will guide guests through a morning of coffee and chocolate pairing at Encounter Coffee Roasters’ micro-roastery.

Beginning with an explanation of the chocolate making process, origins, taste notes, smells and flavours, the class will also include a tasting session.

Mirzam chocolate flavours include the single origin dark chocolate (85% Cuba, 72% Madagascar and 65% Vietnam), spiced 62% dark chocolate with dates and fennel, and spiced 52% dark milk chocolate and sea salt. The chocolates will be paired with Encounter Coffee Roasters’ selection of single origin coffees (Guatemala, Colombia and Ethiopia) and the Voyager blend consisting of three different coffee varieties.

Rise & Dawn Bakehouse, Bull & Roo’s bakery concept, will also be creating a Mirzam pastry special for the week (1 – 7th July) available for sale at Tom & Serg, The Sum Of Us, Common Grounds and Mirzam Chocolate Factory.

The pairing sessions will be held on Friday, July 7 at 9am, 12pm and 2pm and cost AED 140 per person.
