Millennium Hotels and Resorts in the Middle East and Africa region has signed a new five-star property on Al Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah in partnership with SuperCasa Development Limited.

The signing ceremony was held in London in the presence of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels plc chairman Kwek Leng Beng, SuperCasa Development Limited president Abdullah Al Houti, Millennium Hotels and Resorts MEA chief legal officer Emad Majid, and Millennium Hotels and Resorts in the Middle East and Africa region chief operating officer Kevork Deldelian.

Operating under the Millennium brand, the 339-key beach resort is scheduled to open in 2020. The resort, which was first announced last year for a 2019 opening, will be situated on a 75,000 square foot plot on Al Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah’s first man-made island project.

With views of the Arabian Peninsula and access to a private beach, the resort's facilities include two swimming pools, a fitness centre, treatment rooms and meeting and event spaces. The resort will also host all day dining, poolside restaurant, speciality restaurant and a Sky Bar.

Millennium Hotels & Resorts currently operates 10 properties in the UAE, ranging from mid-scale to luxury, with additional 11 upcoming properties in pipeline. The group’s next upcoming openings for the country includes Millennium Deyaar Mont Rose Executive Apartments and Grand Millennium Business Bay Hotel, both due to open in Dubai this year.
