Organised by Mokha 1450 Specialty Coffee Boutique, the 2nd annual UAE AeroPress Championship takes place at Dubai Coffee Museum on September 21 at 5pm.

The 2017 UAE Aeropress Champion and be flown to compete in the World AeroPress Championships in Seoul, in November 2017.

Mokha 1450 CEO Garfield Kerr said in a statement: “We are very excited to bring the UAE’s coffee community together for a second year running. We have received a record number of registrations for this year’s AeroPress Championship, and we’re looking forward to what will undoubtedly be an unforgettable event”.

National AeroPress Coffee Championships run every year across the globe, with 50 countries and almost two thousand competitors will participate in 2017. The contest provides a platform to educate as many people as possible about how a properly prepared cup of coffee can and should taste, as well as what it takes to get the coffee from the farm to the consumer’s cup.

All the competitors will use coffee that is provided by the organisers/sponsors making the contest a true test of skills that will produce the best barista through competition.

An Aeropress is a gadget which that uses both infusion and pressure to extract the flavours naturally present inside the coffee beans. It offers baristas many different ways to brew coffee all yielding different flavour profiles from the same coffee.
