Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah is set to be the site of a new Al Mahra resort, scheduled to open in 2021.

The resort, which will encompass a 126,000 square foot (11,706 square metres) plot on the island, is being developed by conglomerate
FAM Holding.

A 45-minute drive from Dubai, the new Al Mahra Resort will showcase 548 guest rooms, a number of food and beverage outlets including meeting rooms, fitness facilities such as a swimming pool, wellness club, spa and gym.

Featuring a contemporary design for the lobby and VIP check in areas, the resort facilities place an emphasis on children's recreation, with a selection including a kids' pool, kids zone', kids' club, a Sony PlayStation zone and other gaming facilities.

The design of the resort, which combines modernity and authenticity, is inspired by the natural surroundings of Ras Al Khaimah. Additionally, the resort will also contain over 5,500 square feet (510 square metres) of retail, providing access to a private beach equipped with cabanas and water sports facilities.

It is intended for the resort to offer integrated hospitality services provided by an internationally experienced team; the identity of the resort operator has not yet been announced.
