UAE hoteliers took home the top accolades at the annual CEO Middle East Awards, which were held last night at the Four Seasons Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai.

Hospitality CEO of the Year award went to Omer Kaddouri, Rotana CEO and president. He is also seventh on Hotelier Middle East's Power 50 2017. Omer Kaddouri has seen eight properties open in the last year, taking the number of operating hotels up to 56. Ten agreements have also been signed, keeping a healthy pipeline figure of 49.

In April he told Hotelier: “The next 18 to 24 months are going to be the months of opening hotels. We have 17 hotels to open up between now and the end of 2018. We’re sitting at 56 operating hotels and about 49 to 50 in the pipeline, so we normally keep it at a 50:50 ratio. Our wish is to be stronger in the whole Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and GCC area.”

Property CEO of the Year went to Hussain Sajwani, Chairman and CEO Damac Properties and Kabir Mulchandani, Five Holdings took home the Philanthropy CEO of the year award.

 

Six years since DAMAC Maison Hotels & Resorts was founded, and its chairman, Hussain Sajwani, is sitting on a very profitable business. He is number 15 on our Power 50!
