Marriott International has appointed Mohamed El Aghoury as the new general manager for Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort.
El Aghoury brings more than twenty five years of hospitality experience to his new role including leadership positions at some of the UAE’s hotels and resorts. Prior to joining Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort, he was the cluster general manager at The Meydan Hotel and Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & SPA. The appointment marks El Aghoury’s second position with Sheraton Jumeirah, following three years (2004-2007) as director of sales for the property.
A Canadian citizen born in Alexandria, El Aghoury holds a Bachelor degree in accounting and business administration as well as a sales & marketing diploma obtained at the American University of Cairo.
Commenting on his recent appointment, El Aghoury said: “The Jumeirah Beach Residence has developed considerably over the past few years and is now one of the most vibrant leisure destination’s in the UAE. I look forward to working with the team to continue to position Sheraton as a preferred destination in JBR for international travelers and local residents alike.”
