Millennium Hotels and Resorts, Middle East and Africa has strengthened its commercial and human resources teams with four new appointments.
The new recruits include: Tripat Mehrotra as associate director of learning & development; Mohamed Ashour as account director for leisure travel; Mirza Usman as account director for business travel; and Mira Yamout as e-commerce executive. These appointments mark the commitment of the group to employ 4,000 staff by 2018.
With more than 17 years of experience with hotel groups such as Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, Jumeirah Hotels and Rotana Hotels and Resorts, Mehrotra joins the HR team as associate director of learning and development. His main focus will be placed on structuring company learning and development materials and resources.
Reporting to the regional director of sales and marketing, Ashour joins Millennium Hotels and Resorts from Damac Hotels & Resorts Management, where he held the role of cluster assistant director business development. With over eight years of experience working with hotel groups such as Hilton, InterContinental Hotels Group and Rotana Hotels and Resorts, he will be responsible for strengthening regional leisure travel revenue in the Middle East and Africa.
With his most recent role as assistant director of sales at Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates and previous posts with Accor Hotels and Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Usman has a decade of experience within the hospitality industry. Working in the commercial team, he will focus on driving regional corporate travel sales across the Middle East and Africa.
Yamout, as e-commerce executive, has marketing experience across the GCC including her most recent role as cluster marketing and communications executive at Golden Tulip Khatt Springs Resort & Spa, Ras Al Khaimah and Golden Tulip Resort Dibba, Oman. Her main responsibilities will include driving regional e-commerce activities, optimising online channels and managing global digital initiatives for the MEA region.
Millennium Hotels & Resorts currently operates 32 hotels, has 14 hotels due to open within the next year and 40 hotels in the pipeline across the region.
