Rotana officially inaugurated Sundus Rotana Muscat as part of its strategic expansion plan in the Sultanate of Oman.

The move is in line with the Oman Government’s goal to increase tourism and hospitality sector’s contribution by 6% by 2040.

The hotel’s décor characterises modern architecture and consists of 215 rooms and suites, six meeting and conference rooms, a ballroom as well as a wellness club equipped with a swimming pool, gym and steam rooms. It also features three signature restaurants including Lobby Lounge café, Ginger all-day dining and Teatro restaurant which will showcase cuisines from Japan, Italy, India and China.

At the event, attended by the Minister of Tourism H.E. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Mehrizi, Sundus Rotana’s owner Mohammed Al Ardhi added: “Tourism is a key diversification driver of the Omani economy and it is our responsibility to help propel this vision forward and generate sustainable returns for Oman and its people.”

According to Rotana’s chairman Nasser Al Nowais, the inauguration marks a milestone for the growing hotel brand: “2017 has been a year of milestones for Rotana as we celebrated our 25th anniversary and expanded our presence across the region. Oman has always been a key growth market for us to expand into.”

Between Sundus Rotana Muscat and Salalah Rotana Resort, Rotana currently manages 615 keys in the Sultanate.
