Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has made further inroads into North Africa, with the opening of Four Seasons Hotel Tunis.

The new luxury property is located on the seafront of the Gammarth district, a short drive from the ancient Roman ruins of Carthage and the traditional village of Sidi Bou Said.

General manager Ahmed Khalaf said: “We are delighted to greet our first guests at Four Seasons Hotel Tunis. Already there has been great interest among our Gammarth neighbours and inquiries from around the world, and now I join my team in their excitement to show off our new hotel, and invite guests to explore the ancient wonders of Tunisia, and the wonderful seaside lifestyle of the city.”

Contemporary Arabesque architecture and design details including mashrabiya latticework screens reflect the hotel’s proximity to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites.  The hotel comprises a palace-style complex of white buildings, connected via arched walkways and surrounded by pools, fountains and gardens fringed with palm trees palms, leading to the beach.  Public areas are designed in an open concept, while guest rooms and suites open to either garden or sea views.

The 203-key Four Seasons Hotel Tunis features 35 suites, all with terraces or balconies. The hotel's 550-square metre presidential suite showcases a tiered terrace featuring a private pool. Each of the hotel's three Mediterranean suites have a large living and dining area serviced by a butler’s pantry, a private office, and a master bedroom opening onto a furnished terrace overlooking the sea. 

Guests can enjoy five food and beverage venues, which include the The Creek, Bistro Chic on the hotel's top floor highlighting Mediterranean coastal cuisine with fresh products from the city’s central market; casual alfresco Blu Bar & Grill; all-day dining Azur; Salon Alyssa and The Creek Lounge.

For wellness and recreation, the hotel's spa features 11 treatment rooms, many with seaview-facing terraces, as well as a VIP suite with twin massage beds, a rain shower, bathtub and private terrace relaxation area.  The hotel has an indoor-outdoor lap pool. There’s also a fitness centre with steam rooms and sauna, and separate men’s and women’s lounges, and two tennis courts.

The hotel's 'Kids for All Seasons' programme is headquartered in its own space, including a splash pool, with a programme of games and cultural activities coordinated by supervisors.  The hotel also has a teen centre where young adults can enjoy video games.

For meetings and events, the hotel features 1,500 square metres of indoor and outdoor event spaces, including the Jasmin Ball Tunisroom, meeting rooms as well as lawns and gardens looking out to the sea.
