World-famous architect Dame Zaha Hadid’s first ever project in Dubai, The Opus, which is located in the heart of the Burj Khalifa district will open its doors in late 2018.

The latest development from Omniyat Properties, AED 2.5 billion project was first commissioned in 2008 and will open its doors next year as mixed-use property. The building consists of two towers linked by a four story podium at the ground level and an asymmetrical bridge at a height of 71 meters.

The first ME by Melia Hotels in the Middle East, the five-star ME Dubai will occupy the first 19 floors and operate 93 guest rooms and 60 serviced apartments.

The hotel will feature a lobby and the central atrium with mezzanines that will rise like the petals of a flower and will also feature furniture created by Hadid, a report published by The National said.

Besides ME Dubai, The Opus will feature 56,000 square feet of office space, a rooftop bar, and a nightclub in its basement and 12 restaurants, the report added.

Hadid, who was in charge of the complete design of the building, died from a heart attack in Miami last year at the age of 65.
