Media One Hotel is bringing back its vertical race, the M1 Run, on February 17, 2018 - with prizes totalling AED 80,000 (US$21,784).
The vertical race, now in its fourth year, involves seven floors of car park and 35 flights of stairs.
Prizes will include AED 10,000 ($2,723) to spend at Media One for the fastest group and anyone who beats the M1 Run World Record in the female or male category. To date, the female and male record holders are: 25-year-old Euliter Jepchirchir Tanui from Kenya,with a time of 00:08:45; and 31-year-old Piotr Lobodzinski from Poland, with a time of 00:06:33.
The race for individuals starts at 10am with an entry fee of AED99 ($27) per person, but the hotel also offers special categories for hospitality, corporate and sport groups.
The M1 Run is professionally timed by Premier Online and all finishers will receive a medal and their race times.
Each entrant will receive a goody bag worth over AED500 ($136) from sponsors; this year, Media One Hotel has teamed up with Guavapass, Eat Clean, Fitbit, Uber, Tribefit, RedBull, Dreamworks Spa, Coca-Cola, Swedish Business Council, Urban Sports and Time Out.
