Swiss-Belhotel International has appointed Bert Plas as the general manager for Grand Swiss-Belresort Seef in Bahrain.
The Grand Swiss-Belresort Seef is a five-star luxury resort featuring 193 rooms and suites and is expected to open by June 2018.
Plas has more than 25 years of hotel management experience across Europe, the Middle East, North and South America and the Caribbean region, with various international brands.
He entered the hospitality industry upon completion of his education from the Hesser Hotel Management School in Zurich, Switzerland and Hotel Management School in Zwolle, Netherlands.
Plas worked in many senior roles including the position of general manager with hotels such as Crowne Plaza Hotel in Trinidad Tobago and Le Meridien Hotel, British Guyana.
In 2009, Plas joined the Sofitel Hotels & Resorts where he stayed for over eight years serving various properties as the general manager.
Prior to joining The Grand Swiss-Belresort Seef, he was the general manager of Sofitel Jeddah Corniche in KSA since September 2015.
