Media One Hotel in Dubai was awarded Safehotels Premium Certificate by Safehotels Alliance AB in the UAE for a fourth consecutive year. The independent hotel first received the award in 2015, making it the first hotel in the Middle East to receive this award.
To be recognised for this award, an auditor from Safehotels visited the 264-key property to assess 220 checkpoints in line with The Global Hotel Security Standard. Inspection categories included: fire equipment, fire procedures, general security, safes and security equipment as well as staff training in various aspects. Assessed areas included surveillance, safe deposits, alarm and key systems plus the hotels communication policies.
Commenting on the certification, Media One hotel general manager Mark Lee said: “Safety and security plays an increasingly important role for all global businesses. The Media One team values guest security. We have all the right responses in place if there is any situation requiring action. Being a member of Safehotels Alliance AB guarantees certain standards, including recommendations for improvements, which adds a sense of confidence for companies who search for hotels that offer and provide safe accommodation for their delegates.”
Headquartered in Sweden, Safehotels developed ‘The Global Hotel Security Standard,’ a method which is used to inspect hotel security standards worldwide after years of extensive research and consists an international network of accredited security experts it deploys to check for hotel security standards around the world.
