InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has officially opened Crowne Plaza Nairobi Airport in Kenya in partnership with The Lazizi Premiere Limited.

The new property offers 144 rooms and is located at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the hub of Africa’s fourth largest airline. Located within three-minute driving distance from the terminals, it will offer free pick-up and drop services to its guests.

The hotel also features a fully equipped business centre with three large meeting rooms, a gym, Euphoria spa we well as a rooftop pool with a 180-degree view of the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway. For F&B, the hotel offers all-day dining at Kitchen 9 and consists another outlet called Velocity. The hotel will also offer guests wildlife safaris and excursions to the Nairobi National Park.

The hotel opening is in line with IHG’s efforts to increase its footprint in Africa according to IHG managing director for India, Middle East & Africa, Pascal Gauvin. “In line with our strategy to grow our presence in key markets across the African continent, we are delighted to be working with The Lazizi Premiere Limited to expand the Crowne Plaza portfolio in Kenya,” Gauvin said.

“We currently have 25 operating hotels across eight countries in Africa, and we are looking at expanding our presence further by more than 27%, in 3-5 years,” Gauvin further added.
