Millennium Resort Mussanah in Oman has appointed Dermot Birchall as the new general manager. He brings more than 18 years of industry experience to his role.
A graduate in Hospitality Management with honours from Shannon College in Ireland, Birchall started his career in 1999 with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. He has since worked in various locations such as Libya, Indonesia and Georgia.
Prior to joining Millennium Resort Mussanah, Birchall was the hotel manager at the Trans Luxury Hotel in Bandung, West Java Indonesia.
Commenting on his new appointment, Dermot Birchall said that with the completion of the new Muscat International airport and the forecasted growth of tourists expected in the coming years, he expects the location to grow as a tourist destination.
Millennium Resort Mussanah offers 308 rooms, suites and apartments, a health and fitness club and spa. The beach front resort also includes an 18-hole mini-golf course, tennis courts, five swimming pools, and a marina where guests can sail, snorkel or charter a yacht.
