This May, Hilton is celebrating Careers@Hilton, Hilton’s annual global career event showcasing the opportunities available in the hospitality industry for young job seekers.

During the event, Hilton hotels and corporate offices around the world will host hundreds of events to inform young people about the diverse career opportunities in the hospitality industry, a statement from the company said.

Careers@Hilton events are being held across the Middle East, too. Hilton Hotels & Resort’s Dubai cluster has already held several events focused on job shadowing and work experience that impacted 550 students from various schools.

In Saudi Arabia, Hilton’s hotels in Makkah and Hilton’s regional team conducted MOU signing ceremonies with the Tourism College at Umm Al Qura University, Laureate Vocational Saudi Arabia and Niagara College Makkah.

Meanwhile in Egypt, students from a secondary school had the opportunity to visit Hilton Sharms Waterfall Resort to listen to career talks and visit each department within the hotel. The hotel also held an event for people with short stature – and three of the people who attended were hired to work at Hilton’s hotels in Egypt.

Hilton vice president of human resources, Middle East, Africa & Turkey Koray Genckul said: “As one of the largest employers in the world, the travel and tourism industry has a great opportunity to connect young people with career and training opportunities. This is why at a global level, Hilton is committed to connecting, preparing and employing one million young people by 2019.”
