Thailand-based Dusit International has appointed Marc Hediger as senior vice president – development. Hediger will be responsible for overseeing the development team’s global operations except China.

To his new role, Hediger brings more than 30 years of development and operational experience with a majority of the roles based in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Dusit, he served as the CEO of Lanson Place Hospitality Management in Hong Kong, where he was part of the operations to double the number of luxury hotels from six to 12 properties.

During his expansive career, Hediger has worked as the general manager for Hyatt Hotels, and he also spent eight years as senior vice president and director of development for Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, Hong Kong.

Hediger also spent almost two years as senior vice president – property development at New World Hospitality, Hong Kong, where he oversaw the launch of Pentahotels and established the new Rosewood brand.

Dusit International currently has 27 properties in operation across four brands in eight countries. The company also has more than 50 confirmed projects in the pipeline including the Asai Hotels designed to draw millennial-minded travellers in key destinations worldwide which are expected to open throughout 2019. From mid-scale through to luxury segments, at least 15 hotels are expected to open over the next 12 months, including Dusit’s first hotels in Singapore, Vietnam, Bhutan and two new hotel in Bahrain.

A Swiss national, Hediger holds a Diplôme d'Études Supérieurs from Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Switzerland.
