The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai the iconic flagship of The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) is celebrating its 115th anniversary on December 16, 2018.

One of the defining landmarks of Mumbai’s cityscape, ‘The Taj’ is the great and lasting legacy of its founder Jamsetji Tata. Ever since it opened its doors in 1903, The Taj has made a name for itself as one of India’s most famous hotel.

As a part of their anniversary celebrations, a special stay package has been created to celebrate the journey of the hotel. From exploring the city before dawn to a leisurely champagne walk around the hotel; to a sunset cruise that ends with a Maharaja high-tea, the offer allows guests to experience palace life.

10 years ago, Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Palace hotel came under a terrorist attack on November 26. 

In an interview after the attack on the Taj Mahal Palace, Ratan Tata who had promised to build every inch of the hotel had said: “This flagship property, this venerable Old Lady, is going to reopen in the same glory, the same splendor of more than 100 years.”

On November 26, 2008, at least 31 lives were lost and another 28 injured at the hotel.
