Sarmad N. Zok has been Kingdom Hotel Investments’ (KHI) chief executive officer since 2001, leading the company’s Initial Public Offering in 2006.

He is a member of KHI’s Executive Committee and also serves on the board of directors for the company, which is the brainchild of entrepreneur His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin AbdulAziz Alsaud, member of the Saudi Royal family, and KHI’s founder and chairman.

Prior to 1999, Zok spearheaded the development of all KHI’s assets within the Middle East region and established its portfolio and management team.

In total, KHI is invested in 27 hotels in 18 countries, with some of the most prestigious Middle East properties including Four Seasons Hotels in Damascus, Syria, Amman, Jordan and Nile Plaza, Cairo, Egypt and Mövenpick properties in Beirut, Lebanon and Bur Dubai, Dubai, UAE. Exciting projects under construction include Four Seasons Marrakech in Morocco and Four Seasons Beirut.

Zok is a member of the board of directors of Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts AG and Fairmont-Raffles Hotels.

Prior to joining KHI, Zok headed Forte plc’s development effort in the Emerging Markets and worked at HVS International, a leading hotel consulting and valuation firm in London covering European markets. 

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management from the University of Surrey and a Masters of Arts in Property Valuation and Law from City University Business School in London.
