The exterior lights of the Fairmont Dubai will turn pink for 10 days at the start of October, marking the property’s second year of participation in the Estée Lauder Company’s Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.

The five-star hotel will be in good company with New York’s Empire State Building, Pisa’s Leaning Tower, and the Sydney Opera House some of the 200 global landmarks also turning pink from October 1-10.

The global landmark event is now in its 10th year; more than 70 countries will participating in spreading the message of awareness of a disease that is predicted to affect 1.3 million women worldwide this year, resulting in approximately 465,000 deaths.

As well the Dubai building adorning a pink attire, more than 600 staff at the property will wear a pink ribbon, while guest services and front office staff at the will wear pink ties and cravats for the first ten days of October.
