The Rezidor Hotel has appointed Tapasya Chona as the new regional responsible business coordinator for the Middle East.

Chona, an Indian national; has more than 10 years experience in the hospitality industry. Having spent almost five years with the Jumeirah Group at the Burj al Arab in Dubai, Chona joined Rezidor in 2007 as training & development manager at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek.

This role gave her responsibility for all responsible business training at the hotel, as well as providing additional support to sister properties in the Middle East, serving as a regional master trainer and a member of the task force for new openings.

Speaking of the appointment, Marko Hytonen, area vice president, Rezidor Hotel Group said “We are delighted to have Tapasya in place to carry on the fantastic work we are doing as part of our corporate Responsible Business programme. Tapasya is an extremely driven and motivated individual and I feel confident that in her capable hands, Rezidor’s Responsible Business programme in the Middle East will go from strength to strength.”

In her new role, Chona will drive and coordinate responsible business activities across Rezidor’s 25 Middle East hotels including overseeing and initiating activities for the firm’s annual Responsible Business Action Month in September; a month where all entities within the group are encouraged to dedicate time and resources to responsible business activities and raising money for the World Childhood Foundation, Rezidor’s corporate charity.
