Marriott International has named Vladimir Dabbah vice president of global sales for the Middle East & Africa, based in Dubai.

Most recently, he was director of sales & marketing for the Renaissance Dubai Hotel.

In his new capacity, Dabbah has overall responsibility for providing strategic sales leadership for Marriott’s global sales efforts throughout the Middle East & Africa.

Among his priorities are to lead a team of 75 sales professionals in developing and implementing business segment sales strategies that align with the company’s overall sales goals and objectives, said David Townshend, senior vice president-global sales for Marriott.

Dabbah joined Marriott International in 1997 as a reservations sales agent at the company’s reservations center in Amman, Jordan. Two years later, he was transferred to the company’s global sales office in Dubai as a sales manager.

In 2000, he was advanced to senior business transient sales manager for the Middle East & Africa, and a year later, he transferred to the JW Marriott Hotel Dubai as senior sales manager. He was promoted to director of sales at the hotel in 2002 and in 2004, he was advanced to director of sales & marketing at the Renaissance Dubai Hotel, the position he held prior to this latest appointment.

Dabbah is a graduate of Yarmouk University in Jordan where he majored in business administration with an emphasis on finance and banking. He also attended Davies’s College London and attended schools in India, Egypt and Jordan.
