Marriott International CEO J.W. Marriott Jr. received compensation valued at around US $1.5 million in 2009, an 82% decline from 2008.
The figures revealed by an Associated Press analysis of regulatory filings showed that Marriott didn’t receive a performance-based bonus or stock options.
Marriott received a 2009 salary of approximately $1.2 million and other compensation totaling $292,694.

According to the analysis, this included $82,932 for personal use of the company jet, $98,387 toward life insurance, $100,350 for tax and financial services and $11,026 in contributions to the company's 401(k) plan.
In 2008, the total value of Marriott's compensation package was about $8.3 million including stocks and options valued at approximately $5.8 million on the date granted.
Marriott reported a full-year loss of $346 million for 2009 as its revenue fell 15% to $10.91 billion.
The Associated Press formula is designed to isolate the value the company's board placed on the executive's total compensation package during the last fiscal year.
