Ritz-Carlton welcomes new PR Director

Els Ramadhinta has joined The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai as director of public relations to handle the resort’s media communications. Ramadhinta has more than eight years experience in public relations and began her career working for The Pan Pacific Hotels & Resorts in her native Indonesia. She holds a diploma in public relations and marketing from InterStudi Public Relations School in Jakarta.

Lang brings 20 YEARS’ experience to Mövenpick

Mövenpick Hotel, Bahrain has appointed Holger Lang its new executive chef. Lang brings more than 20 years experience to the role and joins Mövenpick from Kempinski High Tatras in Slovakia. Lang began his career in 1988 and has since developed experience in all aspects of cooking, with cuisine ranging from Italian to Asian. He has worked across Europe and in Saudi Arabia and speaks several languages including English and Spanish.

Carmichael joins Anantara

Peter Carmichael has joined Ananatara as senior vice-president. Carmichael will be responsible for all Anantara properties worldwide, as well as for 30 more projects planned over the next five to 10 years. Carmichael joins Anantara from InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), where he worked as senior vice president operations South East Asia and Maldives. Prior to his time with IHG, Carmichael held operational leadership roles within the Shangri-La Group in Indonesia and China.

Rezidor promotes Sezgin

The Rezidor Hotel Group has appointed Yigit Sezgin global director of sales and marketing. Sezgin, a Turkish national, has held a number of positions throughout the region, including in the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain. Prior to his appointment, Sezgin was working for Rezidor as regional director of sales and marketing in the Middle East, Egypt and Libya. During his time in this position, Sezgin oversaw the opening of eight new hotels and also launched two new brands within the region.

Ramses Hilton welcomes Lansen

Michel Lansen has joined Ramses Hilton in Cairo as director of operations. Lansen brings more than 12 years experience in the hospitality industry to the role, eight of which have been with Hilton Worldwide. Prior to his appointment, Lansen was director of operations at the Hilton Nairobi, Kenya.
He has also held managerial positions in the US and Belgium.

Media One gets a new Mayor

Media One Hotel has welcomed Hitesh Mayor as its new director of sales and marketing. Mayor, who was born in India, obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree at Delhi University and worked his way up the corporate hotel ladder. He has worked at a number of hotels in the region, including; Raffles Dubai, Fairmont Bab Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi and Yas Hotel in Abu Dhabi. Mayor is looking to position Media One as a leading hotel in the business and leisure markets and will concentrate on new sales strategies.

Papke returns to Hyatt brand

Park Hyatt Dubai has appointed Waike Papke as director of sales and marketing. Papke, who has worked for the Hyatt brand previously, will be focusing on consolidating sales and marketing activities towards gaining momentum with the launch of their summer sales strategy. Her aim is “to continue increasing Park Hyatt Dubai’s awareness in the GCC market and raise the percentage of Arab nationals staying with us”.

Double Appointment at Four Points by Sheraton Complex

Four points by Sheraton Downtown and Sheikh Zayed Road have expanded their sales team, welcoming Tamer Saleh and Anna Villanueva as the new deputy directors of sales for the Sheraton Complex. Saleh joins the team from Saudi Arabia, where he worked as acting director of sales, while Villanueva has been working for Four Points by Sheraton Complex since 2001 and has been promoted from the role of senior sales manager.
