Meydan signed a Letter of Understanding (LOU) on Tuesday with Jumeirah Group for the management of its flagship five-star trackside hotel, The Meydan.

Jumeirah was appointed as a service provider to assist in the opening and launch of The Meydan, which welcomed its first guests earlier this year.

Saeed Humaid Al Tayer, chairman of the board and CEO of Meydan, said: “Jumeirah Group are well-known to us, having managed our successful desert resort and spa, Bab Al Shams. “We are indeed glad to chart a new journey with them for The Meydan, and we have exciting plans ahead both for the property and the brand’s expansion.”

The agreement will cover the management of the five-star hotel property, which include 285 guest rooms and suites, conference facilities and a business centre, restaurants and bars, a spa, fitness centre and other leisure facilities.

Gerald Lawless, executive chairman of Jumeirah Group said: “We are delighted to move ahead in our relationship with Meydan, and following the successful run of our initial appointment for The Meydan’s launch, we now look forward to building local and international awareness for the property amongst discerning global travellers.

“The Meydan has many fantastic features; proximity to the heart of Dubai, quality of service and rooms, and of course its iconic location at the Meydan Racecourse. It is prestigious for us to be associated with Meydan and what is widely considered Dubai’s latest landmark. We look forward to building upon the excellent reputation that is fast becoming synonymous with the Meydan brand."
