Abu Dhabi National Hotels celebrated the successful graduation of seven Emirati students participating in the ‘Al Mumaiz’ hotel emiratization programme.

Students got the chance to look behind the scenes of hotel operations and consider a career in this industry as part of a four week course.

Emirati Mooza Al Zabi, future student at Abu Dhabi Women’s College, was enthusiastic about her traineeship, particularly thanking the director of engineering who showed her “so many new and exciting things [I] never saw before.”

Tasks included washing dishes, preparing salads and other hospitality staples the group had not experienced before.

“Hospitality has not been considered as a career for us traditionally, but this industry is very people and internationally oriented,” Al Zabi enthused.

“We Emiratis should be proud of our country and welcome guests in our Emirate, showing them our traditional hospitality and culture. Who could be better Ambassadors for this country than us?”

Hotels that participated in the course included the Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort, Hilton Abu Dhabi, Hilton Al Ain, Le Meridien Abu Dhabi, Mercure Grand Jebel Hafeet, Sofitel Jumeirah Beach Dubai and Al Diar hotels.
