The world’s most sought-after food products and ingredients suppliers will be targeting the Middle East market this year — at the inaugural Speciality Food Festival in Dubai.

Taking place from October 31 to November 2, 2010, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC), the event will showcase premium fine food and drink products from around the world to F&B industry professionals.

Trixee Loh, senior vice president for event organiser Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), commented: “The demand for artisan food and high-end tastes are huge in this region and the market continues to hold strong.

“Plus the reputation of many companies can often hinge on the quality of their food and the variety on their menus,” she added.

“The Speciality Food Festival offers the ideal platform for these specialist buyers, chefs and suppliers to meet, taste, sample and network.”

Gourmet House owner Hamideh Harizi, along with chief executive Ali Mahmoudi, said they felt the festival would be “a real driver for the market”.

“It’s great to have a speciality food event in Dubai. There are so many businesses which rely on the best food available and this is a city which has a reputation for attracting luxury tastes and premier customers,” the pair noted.

“We‘ve no doubt it’ll be the first of many more to come and we hope to become regular participants.”

The show will run alongside the co-located events Sweets & Snacks Middle East, Sweet & SnackTec Middle East and The International Travel Catering Association Exhibition (ITCA Dubai) — all four of which are dedicated food industry events, providing visitors and exhibitors with a platform for trading, networking and cross-selling.

The exhibition is for trade and business professionals only and will be open from 10am to 6pm daily.
