The final nominees for the Hotelier Awards Marketing and PR Person of the Year have been released, with five candidates making it on to this year’s shortlist.

There was stiff competition for the coveted award, but ultimately there were several nominees who stood out from the crowd.

And the finalists are:

Derryn French, Director of Market Communications, The Westin and Le Méridien Mina Seyahi
Rarely does one have the pleasure to meet an individual with such a passion for their work and a sheer determination to drive great business results for the organisation. She works closely with key media partners to achieve excellent results with her campaigns

Rohit Sawant, Marketing Manager, InterContinental Al Jubail
Examples of this person doing his duty over and above is that he did artworks for the hotels during weekends, assisted sister hotels after duty hours, assisted F&B, H.R. Recreation with their designing tasks for the Wheel and Winning Ways boards, and much more.

Alka Patel, Group Director, Public Relations, Fairmont Dubai & Fairmont Bab Al Bahr
From researching and understanding a particular publication's needs, pitching news worthy stories that offers something insightful as well as highlight her brand’s reputation positively.

Katie Harvey, Communications Manager, Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach
Over the past 12 months Harvey has flourished in her role, executed her first opening with great results and pushed the boundaries of communications within the Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts group.

Rashmi Chittal, Corporate Communication Manager, Armani Hotel Dubai
Rashmi never shies away from her responsibilities: if it takes all night to finish something she will do it and deliver it well. Rashmi is always praising her team when needed and giving everyone the positive reinforcement necessary to let the team know a good job was done. She is the first to suggest nominations of the staff to award and this is because she takes the time to get to know her colleagues.

The results will be announced at the Hotelier Middle East Awards, which will be held on October 14 at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai.
