Mohamed Zeid was crowned Hotelier Middle East's Green Hotelier of the Year at a ceremony held on Thursday night.
Diversey Gulf presented the award for his achievements in his role as technical director at Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates.
Unfortunately Mohamed was unable to be at the awards so Alejandro Bernabe, GM of Keminski Mall of the Emirates accepted the award on his behalf.

He said: "The property opened almost five years ago and they plan is to make it the first LEED hotel in Dubai, they are now in the final stages and this will happen in the first quarter of 2011. Mohammed is the one who is spearheading the project."
Mohamed’s quest is to operate in the most energy efficient and ecologically sound manner possible. He has initiated and spearheaded the LEED Certification procedure at his hotel, and always goes far beyond his day to day duties in his commitment to energy conservation.
Mohamed continuously trains his team to act as green ambassadors and drafted nine green policies that have been implemented in a Green Policy Week.
Quddus Sheikh, The Palace The Old Town, Dubai and Tom Lord, InterContinental Dubai Festival City were both Highly Commended.
