Dubai-based Jumeirah Group has announced that its first property in the Maldives will open in January 2011.

Jumeirah Dhevanafushi is an exclusive all-suite resort situated in the Gaafu Alifu Atoll, 400km south of capital city Male.

The intimate resort comprises 22 island villas and 16 ocean villas, which are called the Hermitage Collection and are separated from the main island.

The Hermitage Collection villas, named Revives and Sanctuaries, range from 200m² to 600m² and are aimed at the “most discerning traveller wanting to experience a truly unique level of remote luxury”.

The resort features three restaurants, a bar and a Talise Spa, with over-water treatment rooms and sports and leisure facilities.

Jumeirah is developing a second property in the Maldives, which is scheduled to open in March 2011.

This five-star deluxe family resort, Jumeirah Vittaveli, is located in the South Male Atoll.
