Dusit Thani Dubai has become the first hotel in the Middle East and the first property in Dusit’s portfolio to be awarded EarthCheck Silver Benchmarked Status.
The certification recognises the hotel’s environmental strategies in the following three categories: energy conservation, waste disposal management and community services.
These include the installation of dual flush system in all toilets, monitoring pressure of water in all guest rooms, utilising water-saving device on showers and use of LED lighting and dimmers in public areas.

Dusit Thani Dubai director of engineering Johnny Ding said: ““We’ve been doing most of these things from day one. As we progress, we aim to emphasise these procedures even more.
“We constantly look for opportunities to support our nature. We look into the market for eco-friendly amenities and products,” he added.
