General Manager of The Mövenpick Resort & Spa Tala Bay Aqaba, Hubert Klemenz said the Green Globe ranking was the icing on the cake, after recently receiving Green Key resort status, and following on from Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and ISO22,000 certification.

“It demonstrates the resort’s strong commitment to the principles of environmental protection and most importantly, reflects the company’s determination to implement sustainable practices today to ensure a better tomorrow,” he said.

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is aiming for 20 per cent of its hotels, resorts and cruises to be Green Globe Certified by the end of this year and all properties stamped with Green Globe credentials within two years.

The strategy is part of a company-wide programme to establish a common and global approach to environmental, employer and social sustainability.
