Campbell Gray Hotels chairman, Gordon Campbell Gray, critisised the wasteful use of water in UAE hotels during the Arabian Hotel Investment Conference.
Commenting during a panal session entitiled 'Creating Profitable Luxury Hotels and Resorts with Longevity', Campbell Gray quizzed participants on their environmental records.
"We are sitting in Dubai where water is scarce, and yet every hotel I go in to here has lakes and fountains — I think it is quite shocking when you have such a hot climate to use water in this way," he said.

Panel participants — including Amit Arora, vice president sales and marketing, Emaar Hospitality Group — assured Campbell Gray that they were making the environment a priority.
