Hotel HR leaders in Bahrain held their second meeting to discuss the new challenges they were facing after the civil unrest.
Of primary concern was the safety and job security of employees working in the hospitality industry, a spokesperson for the group said.
“We all were involved in dealing with anxiety, worries and fears of our associates. Chain hotels organised transfers for many colleagues to the new properties of their companies outside of the country; others were put in a position of releasing their employees,” they asserted.

“Now, when the situation in the country has been stabilised we are moving to the new challenge of recruitment and attraction of the best talent to the beautiful Kingdom. But being together and supporting each other we will be able to climb another mountain.”
The hotel industry has reported major declines in Bahrain since the unrest and the government's cabinet said the five percent fee levied on hotel services would be scrapped from July 1 to September 1, as part of the efforts being exerted to boost the tourism sector.
