Luxury Dubai hotel One&Only The Palm has reported high uptake from the GCC market, which is expected to help fill rooms during the low season.
Hotel general manager Michael R. Payne said: “The GCC market has really come very strong, there are times when it has been number two, number three. If you add Dubai, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, all the GCC [countries], they at times make up number two market share for the month”.
He added: “We do believe that the acknowledgment of our property by the GCC market will definitely help us in the low seasons and we’ve seen even last weekend, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, we went up to the mid-high 70s, nearly 80% over the weekend [26-28 May], with suites and even villas being of a high request. It’s short stay but that’s what the local GCC market is about”.

To help support this market and that of One&Only’s key European feeder markets over the summer months, the resort has launched a summer package called Families Travelling in Style.
“We can’t deny the fact that the summer is a family market,” said Payne. “It’s a shoppers market, it’s a families market and therefore what we’ve tried to do in line with the product here is if you’re a family you don’t want to be sleeping with two or three kids in one room. Why not take a second room and we give you that at 50% and have your children there and your space.”
He explained: “What’s important that we mustn’t forget is if someone goes on holiday they don’t want to go to a hotel where they’re going to get less than what they have at home.
“So I think taking what people have at home as a minimum benchmark is what you need here. I don’t believe parents have their kids sitting in the same room at home, so why would they come on holiday at a top end boutique hotel and camp children on rollaway beds in the same room as mum and dad,” said Payne.
The Families Travelling in Style package is available from June 15 to September 30.
Guests that book a room for two adults at One&Only The Palm will receive a second room at 50% off the room rate for a maximum of three children or teenagers, when staying three nights or more.
They will also receive one complimentary Aquaventure Waterpark ticket per person per stay.
