Today, we can reveal the highly-anticipated shortlist of the top five executive chefs nominated for the 2011 Hotelier Middle East Awards.

The award, sponsored by Nestle Professional, recognises the region's best executive chef for their game-changing contributions to the profession.

Executive chefs have one of the toughest jobs in the industry, having to seamlessly move between front-of-house - where they mingle with diners and take creative suggestions - and back of house, where they must marshal their teams and spur them on to deliver exemplary, consistent service night after night. Our winner will be revealed at the awards on Wednesday October 19, at the Madinat Jumeirah.
