A man thought to be the son of a prominent Iranian conservative who ran against the President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in 2009 has been found dead in the four-star Gloria Hotel in Dubai Media City.
The body thought to be that of Ahmad Rezaei, 31, son of Mohsen Rezaei, was discovered at 8pm on Saturday, The National reported.
Police in Dubai would only confirm a man had been found dead in the Gloria Hotel, the newspaper said. They declined to reveal his identity.

Brigadier Khalil Al Mansouri, head of the Dubai Police Criminal Investigation Department, told The National that the man was discovered in his room.
“Forensic tests suggest that he had been dead for 12 hours”, Brig Al Mansouri said. “There is no criminal suspicion, but it appears to be a suicide."
However, the Tabnak website, which is close to Mohsen Resaei, said the death was suspicious and confirmed the identity as Ahmad Rezaei.
Prior to his return to Iran in 2005, Ahmad Rezaei had lived in the United States and openly criticised Tehran’s rulers. This put his father, a conservative closely associated with clerical hardliners, in an awkward political position, according to the AP press agency.
Mohsen Rezaei is the secretary of Iran’s powerful Expediency Council, an advisory body to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Rezaei had been in the UAE for business for the past four months, and had been living in the hotel for past two months, according to police.
