Amwaj Rotana Jumeirah Beach Hotel Dubai has appointed Alan Snyman as its new executive chef, taking responsibility for the hotel’s five F&B outlets, as well as its in-room dining.

The South African national has a degree from Staffords Cookery School, as well as a bachelor’s degree from Stellenbosch University.

He comes to the hotel with more than 18 years’ experience in the industry, and has worked for Rotana for four years – firstly at Al Murooj Rotana Dubai as executive sous chef, and then as executive chef at Towers Rotana Dubai for three years.

He has previously worked in high-end hotels in South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Ireland, under brands such as Hilton, Orient Express and Sun International.
