Following the completion of a one-year internship, 19 young Emiratis have been offered permanent roles within Dubai-based Jumeirah Group.

The university graduates are part of Jumeirah's National Graduate Development Programme, which makes up part of the group's national development strategy specifically designed to help Emirati graduates to reach the level of competence required to take on a management or supervisory position within Jumeirah at the end of the programme.

The interns undertake a combination of structured work placements within Jumeirah, including participation in projects, development classes, thought leadership, access to company processes and procedures as well as coaching and mentoring by senior managers.

The programme was launched in 2010, with career path options covering marketing and sales, corporate communications and PR, information technology, human resources, learning and development, and design.

In 2011 the programme saw the addition of health and safety and engineering as development options.

Jumeirah Group’s National Graduate Development Programme is the first national leadership programme launched in the hospitality and hotel industry in the UAE.

The Group is currently recruiting for next cohort of the Programme; while 2013 has been declared Year of Emiratisation by the UAE authorities earlier this week.
