The unsung heroes of hotels — executive housekeepers — will come together from across the UAE to share best practice at The Hotelier Middle East Executive Housekeeping Forum 2013, which will be held on May 13 at the Ritz Carlton DIFC.

More than 80 department heads from housekeeping, rooms and laundry are expected to attend the forum, which will comprise inspirational panel debates and practical interactive workshops.

The format of the one-day event includes a series of expert led panel discussions and workshops run throughout the day engineered to encourage interactivity and allow attendees to also take home tips, tricks and strategies from their industry peers.

Topics that will be tackled at the forum include developing a high performance team, resource management and becoming an effective housekeeping leader.

Housekeepers attending the forum will also get the opportunity to hear from suppliers whose products can improve efficiency, reduce costs and save labour if properly integrated into housekeeping strategy and process.

Companies already signed up to support the first-of-its-kind event include Restonic, Diversey Gulf and Renarte Hospitality Supplies.

Restonic sales manager Sameer Ahmed said he expected environmental issues to form a key talking point at the conference.

“This forum would be an exciting opportunity to position our brand and meeting efficient team of executive housekeepers from leading hotels of UAE,” said Ahmed. “In addition to this, it would be interesting to hear from them about their role in product selection procedures and overcome the challenges faced by the corporate brand standards.

“As the attendees represent the decision makers of housekeeping operations, we expect the forum to emphasize on eco-friendly products and their responsibility towards the green hotels programme, avoiding carbon footprints of hotels on the environment,” Ahmed added.
