Dubai’s JA Jebel Ali Golf Resort, managed by JA Resorts and Hotels, has introduced a new green gardening system that will increase the productivity of the hotel’s organic garden.

The Aquaponics system was unveiled last week during an environmental tourism training workshop held at the hotel in association with Dubai’s Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing as part of the Green Economy initiative of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Aquaponics is a completely organic system that grows plants by fertilizing them with the waste water from fish in a growing initiative.

JA Jebel Ali Golf Resort GM Fredrik Reinisch commented:.“I’m proud to be called an eco-friendly destination and I strongly encourage the whole team to do all they can to aid our cause. This training was another step in the right direction and sets an excellent example of different organisations working together for the greater good”.

JA Jebel Ali Golf Resort won a Dubai Green Tourism Award in 2012 and has operated an organic garden for more than 10 years.
