Restaurant and bar development expert Stefan Breg has been appointed F&B concept design director Asia, Middle East and Africa for Intercontinental Hotels Group, based in Bangkok.

Breg, who most recently ran Dubai-based company Tribe Restaurant Creators and worked for IHG as regional director F&B a decade ago, will lead F&B concept development at more than 200 new outlets across 134 pipeline hotels.

He will also be responsible for driving operational efficiency and creating brand-defining F&B outlets in the current IHG portfolio, which consists of more than 800 restaurants and bars in 231 hotels across Asia, Middle East, and Africa.

Commenting on his new role, Breg said: “I’m excited to rejoin the IHG team. Having run my own company, Tribe, for the past decade I’m ready to take on a new challenge and put that experience to work from inside one of the world’s leading hotel companies.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for me to work amongst a team of first class professionals to further bolster the company’s F&B reputation and I look forward to creating more brand-defining outlets for IHG’s hotel brands.”

Breg will report to AMEA vice president of food And beverage Phil Broad, previously also based in Dubai where he headed Jumeirah Restaurants.
