Dubai Police are to investigate reports of a Indian woman who was lured to Dubai and forced into prostitution at a hotel.
The Human Rights Department of Dubai Police are investigating the report of a Mumbai fashion designer who was lured to Dubai and forced into prostitution at a hotel, reports Emirates 24/7.
The Mumbai-based fashion designer claims she was lured to Dubai with AED 60,000 (US $16,336) and offered AED 3000 ($817) for sexual favours, and then locked up and raped repeatedly when she refused.
She alleges she was held captive in a hotel room and raped repeatedly by several men.

The case, which dates back to May-June last year, only came to light when reports of the attack surfaced in Indian media last week after the victim registered her complaint with Mumbai Police.
Dubai police Brigadier Mohammad Al Murr said: “The crime has already occurred, but if the accused is still in Dubai we will follow-up, monitor movements and make arrests.”
Brigadier Al Murr also clarified that the investigation would look into whether the woman was complicit in the crime.
He said: "Throughout the period of three months during which the victim was raped, why did she not call the police? Why not contact the police while travelling from Dubai International Airport?”
“Whatever the truth, Dubai Police will deal seriously with the issue,” Brigadier Al Murr stated.
The punishment for human trafficking is life imprisonment according to UAE Federal Law.
