Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group and Italian fashion house Missoni have agreed to terminate their worldwide master licence agreement for the development and operation of the Hotel Missoni brand.

As part of the termination the hotel group’s two current properties, Hotel Missoni Edinburgh in the UK and the Hotel Missoni Kuwait will be rebranded by June 30, 2014 at the latest. Carlson Rezidor have confirmed that both hotels will remain within their portfolio, but which brands they might become remains unclear.

More uncertain are the futures of the planned Hotel Missoni properties in Oman, Qatar, Turkey, Brazil and Mauritius, which Carlson Rezidor has admitted have either been cancelled or are being converted into another of the group’s existing brands. However, it is still to be confirmed which of the hotels have been cancelled and which are to be rebranded.
