Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, which is due to open by end the 2014 has appointed Greg Pirkle as the property’s pre-opening general manager.

Pirkle, who has been with Four Seasons for 25 years, will join the team in April, making the transition from Saudi Arabia, where he is currently the GM at Four Seasons Riyadh at Kingdom Centre.

Commenting on Pirkle’s appointment, Four Seasons executive vice president global product and operations Christopher Norton said: “Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay will be an iconic property, a landmark for Bahrain and a towering symbol of Four Seasons aspirations across the region. With proven leadership expertise and a strong passion for his team and operational excellence, Greg is the ideal person to introduce a new standard for luxury hospitality in this important and burgeoning Gulf market.”

Pirkle’s tenure at Four Seasons properties over the years includes Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Ka’upulehu, Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta, The Pierre New York (formerly a Four Seasons Hotel), Four Seasons Hotel Boston, and Four Seasons Resort Langkawi, Malaysia.

On his new role, Pirkle commented: “Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay is an incredible opportunity to build our presence in this highly anticipated, visionary development. I look forward to working with a strong team to deliver world-renowned intuitive, personalized Four Seasons service to domestic and international guests.”

The 273-key Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, part of the Bahrain Bay master planned development in Manama, will occupy the entire central island.

The H-shaped tower will feature a two-storey sky bridge designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, and interiors designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon.
