A Dubai hotel’s manager and cook have reportedly been arrested over an incident which saw 12 people hospitalised as a result of food poisoning.

According to Emirates 24/7, the incident occurred on a floating restaurant, with 12 people suffering from food poisoning at a company party on a floating restaurant.

According to police, a hotel which supplied the cake for the party was responsible. The report adds that the cake was made of bad egg which was not correctly stored at the hotel.

The floating restaurant’s manager has been arrested, in addition to the hotel manager and cook, on charges of negligence that caused food poisoning.

Victims of the incident were reportedly taken to various hospitals in the emirate after the party, suffering from fever, diarrhoea, vomiting and stomach pain.
