Al Bustan Centre and Residence (ABCR) has hosted free health checks for hotel staff and guests in partnership with MediClinic.
The activity, which coincided with World Diabestes Day, was led by ABCR’s human resources department as part of the hotel’s CSR programme.
The free screening tested for total cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, and body mass index. The campaign also focused on the importance of making healthy food choices.
ABCR human resources & administration manager Liza Ortiz said: “The health screening campaign was beneficial for the hotel staff as they took time off their busy schedules to examine their health and were informed of the prevention of Type 2 diabetes and the effective management of diabetes to avoid complications.”
Al Bustan Residences chief operating officer Moussa El Hayek, chief operating officer Moussa El Hayek added: “The health screening campaign put diabetes in the public spotlight. Our aim was to educate people about the escalating threat posed by the disease and we wanted them to take proactive actions to live a healthy lifestyle for their own benefit and also of their families.”
