The daily routine of the Ramada Downtown Dubai housekeeping order taker Abdul Kareem Niyoor

5:30 am - I get up early, shower and have breakfast.

7:00 am - I go to work. My day starts with a handover from the night shift. I check the reports of arriving guests with specific requirements. We’ve got a large guest history record, with every request and comment they’ve made, so we know what they want.

9:00 am - I attend the departmental briefing session.

10:00 am - I follow up with my colleagues regarding the condition of the rooms and get them ready for arrivals.

10:30 am - I go through guest feedback and inform my colleagues about guest preferences so that all requests are met before check in.

11.00 am - I follow up with the front office and update the departures and coordinate with my colleagues so that the rooms can be made early for arrival.

2:30 pm - I go for lunch. I prefer to have dal and roti for lunch with some salad.

3:00 pm - I come back to my desk and start the handover for the afternoon shift.

3:30 pm - After handing over I go to the store to take the inventory and prepare purchase orders to get them signed.

4:00 pm - I check all the lost and found items of the day.

4:30pm - I finish work and change and get ready to go my accommodation.

7:30 pm - I arrive at my accommodation and change to go for a walk outside. I do light exercise as it keeps me fit and fresh.

9:00 pm - I come back and get freshened up and watch television or read a magazine and chat with my friends and relatives.

9.30 pm - I have dinner.

10.00pm - I pray and then go to bed as I believe in ‘early to bed and early to rise’.
