Clean the World welcomes Hilton Clean the World welcomes Hilton

As Hotelier reported last week, Clean the World, a charity which recycles the hospitality industry’s hygiene projects, has partnered with Global Soap, a non-profit which distributes recycled hygiene products worldwide and focuses on hygiene education in developing countries.

"Although this marks the beginning of our official joint commitment with Hilton Worldwide, we have been partners in spirit and practice since 2009," said Shawn Seipler, executive director, Clean the World. "Hilton's portfolio of hotels has a longstanding commitment to Clean the World's recycling program, and we are excited to welcome hundreds more now that we have teamed up with Global Soap."

Soap reprocessing is one part of the RePurpose program, which focuses on eliminating waste sent to landfills. RePurpose recycles many of Hilton hotel’s items, including mattresses and food. The programme has helped reduce waste to landfill by 26 percent over the last five years.
